I am grateful for Donald Trump.
Who made me realize the meaning of evil.
I am grateful for Donald Trump.
Made me believe that we had not hit rock bottom.

I am grateful for Donald Trump.
Made me know that all is lost.
I am grateful for Donald Trump.
Made me want to not care so much.

I am grateful for Donald Trump.
Mark Zuckerberg courted him.
Because 'free speech' is more important than truth.
And the truth is they are both phonies.

I am grateful for Donald Trump.
For absolutely nothing.
I wish this sham of a democracy
Had not so greatly worsened.

Disingenuous is the word of the day.

Disingenuous is the Republicans' creed.
No reason will they heed.

We know the President did it.
But the Republicans try to deflect.
And lie and misdirect.
They don't seem to know what we protect.

Call it unfair. Liar liar pants on fire.
That is their only defense.
To not have accountability.
Nor integrity or humility.

It's a big stinking mess.
They dropped a bomb on us.
Whoever smelt it dealt it.
That's their only defense.

Disingenuous. Mendacious.
Maybe I am naive for wanting to believe.
But this administration is shameless.
The Republicans' defense baseless.

I am thankful for the slaughter

My mom asked me today
If I was going to write
A Thanksgiving poem.
I told her I wasn't sure.

But I will try to oblige her.
I am thankful for the slaughter.
As should be every son and daughter.
This delicious bird, this martyr.

The slaughter began centuries ago.
The slaughter of the indigenous.
People who peacefully dwelled here.
Before we colonialists interfered.

I am thankful for the slaughter.
That brought us to the great melting pot.
Where we have abundant food and water.
But I am not proud.

If rock n roll is dead,
I will stay in my crypt.
I prefer guitars to beats.
I still love the organic.

I am the new old fashioned.
Prefer chords and melodies.
I celebrate rock n roll.
Because it's still got soul.

I love rock n roll.
Put it on my tombstone.
While there is amazing hip hop ,
Great rock makes my jaw drop.

Rock n roll just got commercialized.
Like everything else.
Rock n roll is a state of mind.
Rock n roll will never die.

Catholic Guilt

Catholic guilt is sediment. It's silt.
It collects in the unconscious.
It is a flower of wilt.
Catholic guilt is atrocious.

Catholic guilt is upon the world.
While priest rape boys and girls.
Catholic guilt is original sin.
Catholic guilt can no longer win.

We should all bet on a new horse.
Because this one got too loose.
And it really deserves the noose.
Catholic guilt is a farce.
