Purge

I have way too much.
It is overwhelming.
So much I don't need.
But I always need to feed.

I want it all.
I want it so bad.
I want to not feel it so.
I want to let it go.

Most people do no not have the strength.
Most people do not care that much.
Most people are not inclined
To get into the depth and the heart.

We always want what we don't have.
That does not make us bad.
It makes us human.
I will always keep searching.


 

Poem for the New Year

I need a clean-me-out colonic.
I need to be super-sonic.
I need to be free from static cling.
I need to be everything.

I need to make the world better.
I need to not be tethered.
I need to feel there is a reason.
But I'm too sensitive to stop believing.

I need an adventure.
I need to get her.
I need security.
Though I am comfortable with being me.

I need to get my head examined.
I need to not give a damn n',
I need to put it all on paper.
Before it all becomes vapor.

We should be in the same time zone
We should be in the same zip code.
Long distance relationship is a heavy load.
We can't make love through the telephone.

We should be in the same bed.
Everything we have ever said
Is all in our heads.
Are you ready to be my water and my bread?

We should be together.
We should be touching and holding.
We should be beholding.
We are separate and time keeps unfolding.

We are in a holding pattern.
Our flight has not touched down.
Do you want me to keep a frown?
Do you want me to be your clown?

Don't look for the one you love

Finding someone to love
Is easier than riding a bike.

Look for someone you can stand talking to.
