Validation is a mighty sword.
It might go against the Lord.
We all want validation.
We look for it everywhere.

Validation don't play.
Validation makes us feel.
Validation is for real.
Validation has too much appeal.

Validation is a harsh mistress.
Pretending to be in distress.
Her greatest crime being,
She wants us to be less.

 Only pets give unconditional love

Only pets give unconditional love.
The rest of us need to rise above.
We humans put conditions on our love.
We want to be accepted and understood.

Some of us want to be held.
Some of us want a mind meld.
Some of just want to be able to talk.
Some of us don't think about it.

But I think about it a lot.
I love my pets more than most people.
And they don't understand me at all.
But they love me just the same.

Too many shooters

Too many shooters.
And we got no prosecutors,
That are worth a damn.
Who really protects this land?

The shooters are mostly white men.
The shooters are a clan.
United by hate and lacking a plan.
Other than hate hate hate.

Social media gives them validation.
Free speech has become a breach.
If you practice what you preach,
It must be all alright in the end.

Where are morality and ethics?
Is this as bad as it gets?
Because the hate is fomenting.
And there seems to be no relenting.

I think most of the shooters are just cowards.
They're full of self-loathing but they also want glory.
Some of them actually want to take their own life.
But they want to be, for once in their life, a major story.
